Terms of use

This is a template. Before launch, replace every field in square brackets, such as [COMPANY / SOLE TRADER] and [COUNTRY], and have a lawyer in your country review the text.

1.Who we are and what this document covers

The Outlier Shorts service (the “Service”) is provided by [COMPANY / SOLE TRADER], [REGISTRATION NUMBER], address: [ADDRESS], [COUNTRY] (“we”, “us”). These terms are an agreement between us and you (the “User”) on the use of the Service. By registering or paying for a subscription, you confirm that you have read and accept them.

If you use the Service on behalf of a company, you confirm that you are authorised to accept these terms on its behalf.

2.What the Service does

The Service is a web application for preparing short and long videos: searching competitors' videos through the YouTube Data API, generating ideas, scripts, hooks and upload texts, generating images and voiceovers, assembling videos in the User's browser, and a publishing calendar.

The Service does not publish videos to YouTube, TikTok or other platforms; the User uploads them. The Service is not affiliated with Google, YouTube, TikTok, Anthropic, ElevenLabs, Black Forest Labs, OpenAI, Stability AI, Replicate, fal.ai, Cloudflare, Hugging Face or AI Horde.

3.Account

  • You need an account with a valid email address. You must be at least [AGE, E.G. 18] years old.
  • You are responsible for keeping your password safe and for everything done in your account.
  • One account is for one person or one company. You may not share access with third parties or resell it.

4.Subscription and payment

  • Access to the Service's features is provided by subscription. Plans, limits and prices are listed on the Pricing page. The billing term is 1 month, 3 months or 1 year.
  • Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Lemon Squeezy. Lemon Squeezy is the merchant of record for all our orders: it accepts the payment, issues the receipt or invoice, charges sales tax or VAT where it applies, and handles billing questions. Card details are entered on Lemon Squeezy' side; we never receive or store them.
  • The subscription renews automatically for the same term and at the same price until you cancel it. We email you at least 5 days before each renewal with the date and the amount.
  • You can cancel renewal at any time with one click in the Billing section of your dashboard. We ask one optional question about the reason. After cancellation, access remains until the end of the paid term and nothing else is charged; until then you can resume the subscription.
  • If you change plans or the billing term mid-term, the price is prorated for the remaining time unless stated otherwise at checkout.
  • If a renewal payment fails, Lemon Squeezy will retry it. If payment is still not received, access to paid features is suspended until payment; your projects are not deleted.
  • Prices are in US dollars. Taxes are added at checkout where they apply; your bank may charge a currency conversion fee.
  • We may change prices. A new price applies from the next renewal, and we will notify you by email at least 14 days in advance. Founding 50 members keep the price promised at purchase for the stated period.

5.Free trial and free plan

  • After you confirm your email, your account gets a free trial: up to 3 Shorts within 7 days, whichever runs out first. No card is needed, nothing is charged when the trial ends, and it never turns into a paid subscription by itself.
  • One trial per person. We may refuse a trial for an email address or a network that has already used one.
  • After the trial you can keep using the free plan: 1 new video a week, the hook and title generators and a few competitor searches a day from cached results. We may change or end the free plan; we will announce changes in the Service in advance.
  • A paid plan starts only when you subscribe and pay.

6.Refunds

  • 7-day refund. If the Service is not for you, write to support@outliershorts.com within 7 days of any payment (the first one or a renewal) and we will refund that payment in full. No reason needed. The refund goes back to the original payment method through Lemon Squeezy.
  • After 7 days a paid term is not refunded, in full or in part, unless the law of your country requires it. If the Service was unavailable through our fault for a significant part of the paid term, write to us and we will consider a refund or an extension.
  • We may refuse a refund in case of abuse (for example, repeated buy-and-refund cycles) or a serious breach of these terms.
  • Nothing in these terms limits the rights you have under the consumer law of your country.

7.Right of withdrawal

  • If you are a consumer in the EU, the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, you normally have 14 days to withdraw from a contract made online. Because the Service is digital and starts right after payment, at checkout we ask you to request immediate access and to confirm that you lose the right of withdrawal once access starts. Without this consent we cannot start the subscription.
  • If you are a consumer in Mexico, you may revoke your purchase within 5 business days of it; write to support@outliershorts.com and we will refund the payment.
  • Our 7-day refund policy (section «Refunds») applies in every country, in addition to these rights.

8.Your API keys and third-party services

  • Text, image and voice generation and YouTube search run through API keys of third-party providers (for example Anthropic, ElevenLabs, Google, Black Forest Labs, OpenAI, Stability AI, Replicate, fal.ai, Cloudflare, Hugging Face) that you add in Settings. The subscription does not include payment to these providers.
  • Costs on your keys are billed to you directly by the provider at its rates. We are not responsible for these costs, for changes in provider prices, their limits, blocks or availability.
  • When using the keys, you must comply with each provider's terms and usage policies, including content restrictions.
  • Keys are stored encrypted and used only for requests you start in the Service.
  • The Service also offers free image generators that need no key (FLUX Schnell on a public Hugging Face Space and the AI Horde community network). Your browser sends the image prompt to them directly. They are run by third parties, have daily limits, may be slow, and may change or stop working at any time; we do not guarantee their availability.

9.AI output, licenses and platform rules

  • Texts, images and voices are generated by third-party models. The Service shows the license of each built-in model and voice. By default it only offers models and voices whose licenses allow commercial use of their output, but those licenses are set by their authors and may change: check them before commercial use, especially for models or voices you enable yourself.
  • AI output may resemble existing works. You are responsible for checking that what you publish does not infringe the rights of others.
  • YouTube, TikTok and other platforms have their own rules on repetitive, mass-produced or “inauthentic” content and on labelling realistic AI-generated content. You are responsible for following them. The Service helps (a personal edit step before export, a similarity warning, an AI-disclosure checklist), but it cannot guarantee that a platform will accept, recommend or monetise your videos.
  • In some countries content made mostly by AI, without enough human creative input, is not protected by copyright.

10.Limits

Each plan has monthly limits on the number of channels, projects, competitor searches and AI actions, and a storage limit for files. Monthly limits reset on the 1st of the calendar month. When a limit is reached, the Service declines new actions until the reset or a plan upgrade.

11.Your content

  • Texts, images, audio and video that you create or upload to the Service belong to you to the extent permitted by law and by the terms of the AI providers. We claim no rights to your content.
  • You grant us a limited right to store and process your content solely to operate the Service.
  • You are responsible for what you publish. AI output may contain errors and inaccuracies, including factual ones. Check the facts, especially in historical and educational videos.
  • You are responsible for following the rules of the platforms where you publish, including rules on labelling AI-generated content.

12.What is prohibited

  • creating content that violates the law, copyright, image rights or the privacy of third parties;
  • creating disinformation, fraudulent content, hate speech or material harmful to children;
  • impersonating another person or organisation;
  • circumventing limits, automating access to the Service without our consent, overloading or hacking it;
  • reselling access to the Service.

If you violate these rules, we may suspend or close your account. For serious violations, the paid term is not refunded.

13.No guaranteed results

The Service is a tool. We do not guarantee views, subscribers, acceptance into the YouTube Partner Program or any other monetisation program, or income. Platforms may limit, demonetise or remove videos and channels under their own rules; we are not responsible for their decisions. The Service is provided “as is”; we work to keep it running but do not guarantee it will be free of interruptions and errors, including those caused by third-party providers.

14.Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us over the last 3 months. We are not liable for lost profits, indirect damages, or for blocked accounts and channels on third-party platforms.

15.Deleting your account

You can delete your account in Settings. Deleting it stops the renewal of your subscription; the current paid term is not refunded except under section «Refunds». When you delete the account, we delete projects, files, channels and saved keys; payment records are kept as long as the law requires. Details are in the Privacy policy.

16.Changes to these terms

We may change these terms. We will notify you of material changes by email or in the Service at least 14 days in advance. By continuing to use the Service after the changes take effect, you accept them.

17.Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of [COUNTRY]. Disputes are resolved through negotiation and, if no agreement is reached, in the court at the location of [COMPANY / SOLE TRADER], unless the consumer protection law of your country provides otherwise.

18.Contacts

Questions about these terms, payments and the Service: support@outliershorts.com.
